The Effect of Health Promotion Behavior on the Meaning in Life of Older Women: Focused on the Mediating Effects of Commitment to Leisure

|
The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of leisure commitment on the relationship between health promoting behaviors of older women and the meaning in their life. A total of 285 questionnaires were administered to 320 older women. The results of this study were as follows. First, there was a strong positive correlation between the health promotion behavior, the commitment to leisure, and the meaning in life of older women. Second, the health promoting behaviors of older women influenced their commitment to leisure, and these two variables have also effects on their meaning of life. Finally, the commitment to leisure of older women has a mediating effect on the meaning of their life.
